Toot! Toot!

I'm a total blog slacker lately. We are pretty much getting to the point of being organized and unpacked in our new house. We are absolutely loving it. I feel so grateful to be in such a nice house at such a young age. It's nice to be in a home that we feel like we can stay in until we downsize one day.

So, what's been happening around here???

Audrey had her teacher conference today, and she is doing amazing. I was worried about moving her schools again, but she is so adaptable and bright, and I just love her two teachers. They seem to really recognize the different needs of each student and they are catering to their students levels. I couldn't be happier with Audrey's education.

Sadie has started Joy School. Myself and 9 other mom's have organized a preschool for our 10 children. We are teaching in teams of two, two months out of the school year. We have some great kids in the group and helping them learn is so much fun. I'm thinking about substitute teaching here and there, just because I love it so much.

Porter is running everywhere. His vocabulary is exploding right now. His sisters were excellent talkers, and I didn't think he would speak to their level but he is starting to prove me wrong. I feel like life is moving much too fast with him right now. I fear my baby day's are quickly slipping away, so I am trying to enjoy every last moment I can get with his chubby little toes and cheeks.

Mike spent some time in Canada for work and really enjoyed to cultural differences. We are heading down to the dunes in the am for some quality family camping time and he's worked hard to get us ready for our trip. I can tell he is ready to get away again.

As for me, I spent a weekend up in Park City with the girls from LittleDreamerDesigns.com for a digital scapbook get away retreat. It was so much fun to put faces with names to so many ladies I have only communicated with on the computer. Michelle, our host, took our photo's and she is an awesome photographer. I think it's little weird to post a pic of myself, but it's not to often you have a professional photo taken of yourself, so I wanted to share. She did an amazing job.
Well it's off to sleepy time so I can get up and go camping! Happy Weekend!

Woah, I'm long overdue for an update. I suppose my mom would like to see something beside her birthday post reminding her how old she is this year! Sorry mom, love ya!

We have been playing so hard, I've barely had time to post. Let's see if I can catch you up.
I've already posted about the dunes, and a tiny blurb on Texas, of which my camera was found! Wahooooooo!!!!! Then we spent the Fourth of July at Flaming George, and then up to Pineview the week after. The next week we were off to Chucke Cheese's, a movie and then swimming on base and then swimming at the rec center. So, I think you get the point. Summer is definately my favorite season! You want to get together, give me a call, we love to get out!!!

Nifty to be Fifty

Well, it's official, 12:05 am and my mom is now 50 years old. Happy Birthday Mom!

The older I get, the younger birthday's such as 40 and 50 seem to be. My mother and I are so close in age, she's often felt more like a sister and a friend than just my mother. Most people generally do mistake her for my sister. So mom, here's to you at 50, you've always had youth and beauty on your side, and no stinking over the hill birthday will ever be able to take that away from you! I hope you enjoy this day and many years to come! May you always look more like my sister than my mother!

Family Happenings

Mike and I went out to dinner a few nights ago with some friends, and I discovered that there really are more people reading my blog than I had imagined. So, I figured it was time for a little family update.
Audrey has just graduated from Kindergarten and she is looking forward to being a first grader. She doesn't understand the concept of summer break and was mad when she found out she has to wait three months to actually start first grade! Ohh, I hope this excitement for school will last for many years to come!!! Audrey just had her 6th birthday, Kindergarten Program, and her second dance recital. Busy, busy May!
Parker (Audrey's cousin) & Audrey

Sadie can't seem to give up her thumb sucking, one of these days I suppose I should try doing something about it. Sadie loves to play outside with friends and cousins. She wants to do everything Audrey does, and often seems much older than three. She had a sleep over at Aunt Kanoni's this week, and she was just beaming from ear to ear when I told her she was invited. Thanks Aunt Non! Sadie has learned to spell her name, and who know's what else. She's not big on showing off, so it's hard to know just how much she really does now. Sadie's latest phrase is, "What the Hell?" Yikes, I know she's picked that up from me, and it's a good lesson I'M learning! Oh dear! I know I've got trouble on my hands with her!

Porter just had his first birthday. He is growing and learning by leaps and bounds. He took his first steps last week. He also learned to clap and wave good bye last week as well. Gears seem to be turning faster and faster with him and I'm starting to have a hard time keeping up. He is a mild tempered, happy, and sweet boy! He prefers mom if I'm around, but enjoys spending time with dad too. He is full of kisses and you are sure to get on if you ask him. Porter LOVES animals, especially dogs. He still doesn't sleep at night, and he is still putting everything into his mouth. We hope these two habbits end very soon!

Last but not least, here are the kids Spring Pictures! I have lot's of extra prints if you didn't get one and want one. Just let me know! Hope you enjoyed the update!

Just Try This...

Just try this.
It is from an orthopedic surgeon............ This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's pre-programmed in your brain!
1. While sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right Hand. Your foot will change direction.
I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

My sil Erica sent me this. Too funny, just had to post it. I've tried it three times and my foot switches faster every time. What hoot!

Busy May

Well first I would like to send belated Happy MOther's Day wishes to all the mothers out there who read my blog! Hope you had a nice day!

We've been out playing practically all month! First of the month we were off to Texas for the Pink Floyd Concert witch was AWESOME! They only scheduled for venues in the NOrth American continent! We were so excited to be at one. I was totally suprised at how good they still sounded and how awesome the graphics were during the show. Bad news is, I lost my camera the next day sometime between six flags theme park and coming home, so no pictures of that trip. It was so fun to see Josh and Nicole and their girls.

We then celebrated Audrey's 6th birthday and Porter's 1st Birthday. We had a joit celebration with family in the evening, and durring the day I let Audrey have a Hannah Montanna Party with a four of her girlfriends and her sister. The day party was so much fun. The girls took turns dressing up as Hannah and had a photo shoot. Kind of silly, but the girls LOVED it!

Then we were off to the Dunes again for Mother's day weekend. Once again we were surronded by good company. It was good weather, but Mike had a bad head cold the first two days, and Porter threw up a few times the second day in. Both seem to pull out of it by Sunday and that's when I wrecked our friends dirt bike (pit bike) AGAIN! Luckily I didn't break anything or damage the bike, but I wasn't geared up and I burnt my calf on the hot pipes. It's a pretty bad burn, but I'm keeping it wrapped and hoping the scar won't be too bad. OOPS! All in all, it was still a fun weekend. Seems like it's always a good time at the DUNES.

Our 9 year Anniversay was yesterday, and Mike is still sick and work is getting a little hectic, so we had to cancel our trip to California this weekend. We are hanging around the house trying to play catch up from the last two weeks, and we'll be out celebrating tomorrow after Audrey's Dance Recital! 9 years of marriage going on 14 years of being together. It's amazing how fast time flies!

Well, enough for now, I'm going to go spend some time stalking! I think I've got a lot to catch up on in your lives!

Love, Jen

I've had this draft for quite some time and have beenMIA for awhile! Before I post the latestet and greatest, here is this quick post.

So I've been tagged by my SIL, but I absolutely stink at these things, so I'll just give ya some facts. If you care to read on, then consider yourself tagged and feel free to share something anytime you please. You will get 10 minutes of fabulously good luck no matter what you do!

-My full name is Jenny Jessica Schow

My Girlfriend Jess sent this too me, read as much as you have time for, you'll get the point! Ahhhhh!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!

AAADD KNOW THE SYMPTOMS....PLEASE READ!
Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder.
Somehow I feel better even though I have it!!

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. -Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests:I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.
As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table thatI brought up from the mail box earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first.
But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my check book off the table, and see that there is only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Pepsi I'd been drinking.
I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Pepsi aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.
The Pepsi is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the Pepsi, a vase of flowers on the countercatches my eye--they need water.
I put the Pepsi on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.
So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:the car isn't washed
the bills aren't paid
there is a warm can of Pepsi sitting on the counter
the flowers don't have enough water,
there is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day, and I'm really tired.
I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail....Do me a favor. Forward this message to everyone you know, because I don't remember who the hell I've sent it to.

Minivan Mama

Alright, this is my proclamation to the world, I am now an official minivan mom! Ha Ha Ha! Who would have thought it. So Mike and I have been wanting to trade in the Suburban we drive for a truck, merely for better towing campacity. Of course I am not going to drive a big ol diesel truck around as my family car, and three car seats don't fit so well in the back of our Toyota Corolla. So this weekend, I asked my great friend Cody, who loves her minivan, which ones to look for. Just so happened she knew someone selling one just like hers for a good deal. It was a great deal and we bought it! I'm still laughing! Ahhhhhh!!!! So, for those of you who would like to make fun of me, go right ahead, because I LOVE my minivan! LOL! This pic isn't ours, but looks basically just like it!

I'll be singing an ode to minivans for the next little while!!!!!!!

Sincerly,
Jenny and the Minivan Mama's Club!

One More Post for the Day!

More BIG news!

I'm still in shock over this, but I've been invited to join the team at Little Dreamer Designs! I will be doing quality control work for them and I couldn't be more excited about the set up!

I started digital scrapbooking in January of 2006. I didn't have much exposure to the digiworld, and I came across a community class being taught by Michelle Coleman. I talked Jody into taking the class with me, and we were hooked for life! At the time Michelle was in a joint effort with Scrapartist. She then moved on to start her own website with her sister Lori Barnhurst. Little Dreamer Designs is celebrating their one year anniversary, and you should stop by and check it out!

Here is one of my latest creations with my new stuff! Wahoooooooooo!!!!!

Pink Floyd

I'm not sure if I posted about this, but I surprised my husband on Valentines day with tickets to Pink Floyd in Dallas, Texas. We are so excited to go visit Josh and Nicole and girls, and see the concert. So, in light of our trip coming up the weekend of May, I've decided to upload a new video. Enjoy the music while you read!

Amazing Trip

We are back! We had an amazing trip. There were six trailers (one with two families), two car campers and two tent campers. We had one huge party all in the company of good people. We had so much fun we are already planning to go back. So here are a few pics from the trip!

I don't believe I have mentioned that this was the maiden voyage with my new fourwheeler. I've been so spoiled, first the Suzuki Vinson, now a Honda 400EX, both brand spankin new. The Honda is the keeper, though the Vinson is a good machine, I prefer to ride on the sand and the Honda is a much better machine for that, so I think we'll throw the Vinson up for sale.

I can't get all the pics in one post so here are just a few more pics!

Off to the Dunes!

Well it's been a busy few days as we've prepared for our first camping trip of the season. My family and myself couldn't be more excited to be heading down to Little Sahara tomorrow morning and riding our ATVs around the dunes in the mayhem of the Easter Crowd. Mike and I have both been fortunate to enjoy cabins growing up. The opportunity for family time at them has been pretty limited over the last couple of years.

Mike and I have always enjoyed the outdoors, whether is be at a cabin or in a tent, but a couple years ago we decided it was time to invest in a camping trailer and enjoy the convenience of the amenities they have to offer. Our trailer is bringing us closer as a family and I am so grateful to have it. We are looking forward to a great time and we will be in good company. I'll post pics of our trip when we get back.

Cheers to no make-up, braids, do rags, camfires, roasted marshmellows, cool crisp mornings and a little vitamin D! Wahoooooo!!!!!!!!!

I hope you enjoy the holiday weekend! Happy Easter!

Where does the time go?

I've been wanting to post for some time. My family has been feeling better and with the slight increase in temperature we've been getting out as much as possible. We are heading down to Sand Mountain for Easter weekend, and my mind is buzzing with excitement for the first camping trip of the season. The kids and Mike are alseep, so what better time to get back out of bed for a quick blog post!

Congrats to Jody for her progress in the Apprentice Challenge at Little Dreamer, go check out her stuff, it's awesome!

Sadie turned three just three days after my b-day, and it was a busy weekend! She was so sweet, and she is growing up so fast. We took her to Build-A-Bear with her sis and best friend. They had a blast. Here are some pics I took of her for her 3yr old shot. She is such a fun girl!

That's all for now! Have a great day!

Happy Leap Day!

Wahoooo! I must say, having your birthday on Leap Day is probably the funnest day I can think of. Yeah, you don't get a birthday every year, but when you do get one, EVERYONE remembers!

So far today, I've had:

  • A free Pizza from Papa Johns,

  • Many wonderful gifts from friends and family

  • I'll be getting a one year family pass to Hoggle Zoo, compliments of the Zoo!

  • And MANY, MANY calls and emails!
Thank you everyone for making me feel so loved and happy today!

Here is a pic of me and Audrey taken today. Not too bad for a mom of three going on eight years old. Ha! Ha! (Porter and Sadie were both napping)

Great Weekend!

I'm heading out to my girlfriends cabin up in the Uintah's for the weekend and couldn't be more excited. There are six women going and we are snomobiling in! Wahooooo! They don't know this, but I spent the last two days sewing card holders. I thought it would be fun to give them each one. Then I've cut cardstock into business cards and have packed stuff to decorate the cards, and I thought we could write something nice about each person. I'm so excited, I hope they'll think it's fun! Everyone could use a little pick-me-up, right! My inspriation came from here:

Wishing you all a great weekend!

Ice Water!

I received the greatest gift for Valentines this year, give you three guesses....
Mike installed a water line to our fridge! I am in heaven today. My favorite drink is ice water. I've tried stocking the fridge with bottled water but it just isn't the same. I know it would have been a novel idea to just go out and pick up a couple of cheap ice trays, but I'm a creature of habit, and have been lost for the last two months. Three cheers to my husband who is not only smart, but really handy! Thanks for making me so happy!

Oh the Snow!

Oh the snow. It always amazes me how much I dread getting the kids and myself geared up to play in the snow, because once I'm out there, I LOVE it! This year we built a snow girl. The girls really enjoyed the winter this year, and they've given me a greater apprecition for it. With that said, LET THE SUN SHINE!!!! I'm so excited for spring I can hardly stand it!
