Happy Leap Day!

Wahoooo! I must say, having your birthday on Leap Day is probably the funnest day I can think of. Yeah, you don't get a birthday every year, but when you do get one, EVERYONE remembers!

So far today, I've had:

  • A free Pizza from Papa Johns,

  • Many wonderful gifts from friends and family

  • I'll be getting a one year family pass to Hoggle Zoo, compliments of the Zoo!

  • And MANY, MANY calls and emails!
Thank you everyone for making me feel so loved and happy today!

Here is a pic of me and Audrey taken today. Not too bad for a mom of three going on eight years old. Ha! Ha! (Porter and Sadie were both napping)

Great Weekend!

I'm heading out to my girlfriends cabin up in the Uintah's for the weekend and couldn't be more excited. There are six women going and we are snomobiling in! Wahooooo! They don't know this, but I spent the last two days sewing card holders. I thought it would be fun to give them each one. Then I've cut cardstock into business cards and have packed stuff to decorate the cards, and I thought we could write something nice about each person. I'm so excited, I hope they'll think it's fun! Everyone could use a little pick-me-up, right! My inspriation came from here:

Ice Water!

I received the greatest gift for Valentines this year, give you three guesses....
Mike installed a water line to our fridge! I am in heaven today. My favorite drink is ice water. I've tried stocking the fridge with bottled water but it just isn't the same. I know it would have been a novel idea to just go out and pick up a couple of cheap ice trays, but I'm a creature of habit, and have been lost for the last two months. Three cheers to my husband who is not only smart, but really handy! Thanks for making me so happy!

Oh the Snow!

Oh the snow. It always amazes me how much I dread getting the kids and myself geared up to play in the snow, because once I'm out there, I LOVE it! This year we built a snow girl. The girls really enjoyed the winter this year, and they've given me a greater apprecition for it. With that said, LET THE SUN SHINE!!!! I'm so excited for spring I can hardly stand it!

One More Post

Alright, so enough with houses and camera's and material things. How about a little update on life as we know it currently. (Otherwise known as rambling/bragging, whatever you want to call it)

Audrey is adapting to our new neighborhood faster than the rest, and I'm so pleased with her. She has made new friends, has joined a playgroup, and she has started Ballet in a new dance school. She thrives on the business!

Sadie is starting to make friends, but it's a little harder for a soon to be three year old. She misses her friends from our old neighborhood as much as I do. I often find her talking on a play phone with Campbell, and she asks to play with him nearly everyday. We try to see him as we can and it makes her so happy. Sadie is ready to start Dance, and we'll let her in the fall. I'm also in the process of getting her set up with a Joy School group for next school year. She looks up to her older sister so much and just can't stand not doing everything Audrey does! Sadie has a vibrant personality and always keeps me on my toes.

Porter has two teeth on the bottom and just got two more on top within the last couple of days. He's been army crawling for a week now, and can get around quite well in his walker. I know I could not have been blessed with a happier baby. I suppose he will be crawling within a couple of weeks or so and he's bound to be trouble once he's fully mobile. You can see the gears just turning in his little head, and he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. He's quick too, so I really have to keep my eye on him. Porter's big blue eyes, chubby cheeks and happy smile, brighten up everyone he is around. We couldn't be happier with our caboose.

Mike is briefing the General again tomorrow. He should only have one more briefing after this to complete his project. He started Grad school this month and is working toward a Masters in Aeronautical Science. Mike has been enjoying ice fishing and snowboarding in his free time, though he is dreaming of spring and his Banshee!

As for me, seems like I do a whole lot of nothing, but yet I'm always busy. I have been snowboarding once this year, and can't wait to go again. We have Jazz tix, and have had fun going to the games. I recently made some crayon rolls, and I'm always looking for some sort of craft project to work on. I have enjoyed getting my butt kicked in Scrabble by Grandma, though I did beat her on Moday night for the first time. Wahoooo! (I know she didn't let me win, because I had a huge lead from the start, but I almost lost it!) For the most part, I'm just trying to enjoy these last baby days with my son and be a good teacher to my girls. Of course I'm also looking forward to spring, and camping with my family as much as possible.

Enough babble! I'm off to la la land.

Gears are turning

OK, I am completely exhausted, I don't have a clue what I've accomplished today, my family is finally asleep, and I'm lying in bed listening to Mike sleep and my mind won't shut down. What a suprise. I guess it's mee time. I just caught up on my emails, and so it's back to bloggin!
Tomorrow will mark one week from Sony's announcement of it's new DLSR, Sony Alpha 350. I've been eyeing Cannon's Digital Rebel and Nikkon's D40, but I held out, and I couldn't be more exstatic for my decision to wait! I know I'm a fanatic Sony fan when it comes to cameras, but have you tried one? This camera is along the same class of Camera's as the Cannon and Nikon, but it has LIVE VIEW baby! It also shoots at 14.2mp, not sure if that's quite necessary, but it may come in handy for some high quality enlargements. It's HD ready, has an image stabaliztion feature and more. I can't stop singing Happy Birthday to me! Unfortunately, it won't be available until nearly the end of March. I going to be on the Camera countdown!

Remodel

Hello!!!!!!!! I've decided to remodel and see if I can't find some new inspritation to blog! Maybe I've just got annual bug to blog, we'll see if I keep it up this time!

So we had a crazy year. Our family had it's final growth spurt, increasing from four to a very happy five. Porter will be nine months old this week, Sadie is soon to be three, and Audrey will turn six this year. My the time does fly.

For those of you who don't know, we sold our house in December, and we are settled into the basement apartment of our Granparents house in Centerville. Other than having all three kids in one bedroom, it's spacious and very comfortable down here. We've began the search for our next home. So far we have not made any decions whether to buy existing or build. If we build, currently we are leaning towards one of these two floor plans. They have the same exterior, but slightly different inside.

It's such a big decision, and we would prefer not to move again, so we'll definately be taking our time and be very selective.

I've spent enough time on the computer for today and need to go focus on being a good mom. Check back in later!
