Toot! Toot!

I'm a total blog slacker lately. We are pretty much getting to the point of being organized and unpacked in our new house. We are absolutely loving it. I feel so grateful to be in such a nice house at such a young age. It's nice to be in a home that we feel like we can stay in until we downsize one day.

So, what's been happening around here???

Audrey had her teacher conference today, and she is doing amazing. I was worried about moving her schools again, but she is so adaptable and bright, and I just love her two teachers. They seem to really recognize the different needs of each student and they are catering to their students levels. I couldn't be happier with Audrey's education.

Sadie has started Joy School. Myself and 9 other mom's have organized a preschool for our 10 children. We are teaching in teams of two, two months out of the school year. We have some great kids in the group and helping them learn is so much fun. I'm thinking about substitute teaching here and there, just because I love it so much.

Porter is running everywhere. His vocabulary is exploding right now. His sisters were excellent talkers, and I didn't think he would speak to their level but he is starting to prove me wrong. I feel like life is moving much too fast with him right now. I fear my baby day's are quickly slipping away, so I am trying to enjoy every last moment I can get with his chubby little toes and cheeks.

Mike spent some time in Canada for work and really enjoyed to cultural differences. We are heading down to the dunes in the am for some quality family camping time and he's worked hard to get us ready for our trip. I can tell he is ready to get away again.

As for me, I spent a weekend up in Park City with the girls from LittleDreamerDesigns.com for a digital scapbook get away retreat. It was so much fun to put faces with names to so many ladies I have only communicated with on the computer. Michelle, our host, took our photo's and she is an awesome photographer. I think it's little weird to post a pic of myself, but it's not to often you have a professional photo taken of yourself, so I wanted to share. She did an amazing job.
Well it's off to sleepy time so I can get up and go camping! Happy Weekend!

Summer Update

Woah, I'm long overdue for an update. I suppose my mom would like to see something beside her birthday post reminding her how old she is this year! Sorry mom, love ya!

We have been playing so hard, I've barely had time to post. Let's see if I can catch you up.
I've already posted about the dunes, and a tiny blurb on Texas, of which my camera was found! Wahooooooo!!!!! Then we spent the Fourth of July at Flaming George, and then up to Pineview the week after. The next week we were off to Chucke Cheese's, a movie and then swimming on base and then swimming at the rec center. So, I think you get the point. Summer is definately my favorite season! You want to get together, give me a call, we love to get out!!!
Here are a few pics to enjoy til next time!

Nifty to be Fifty

Well, it's official, 12:05 am and my mom is now 50 years old. Happy Birthday Mom!

The older I get, the younger birthday's such as 40 and 50 seem to be. My mother and I are so close in age, she's often felt more like a sister and a friend than just my mother. Most people generally do mistake her for my sister. So mom, here's to you at 50, you've always had youth and beauty on your side, and no stinking over the hill birthday will ever be able to take that away from you! I hope you enjoy this day and many years to come! May you always look more like my sister than my mother!

Family Happenings

Mike and I went out to dinner a few nights ago with some friends, and I discovered that there really are more people reading my blog than I had imagined. So, I figured it was time for a little family update.
Audrey has just graduated from Kindergarten and she is looking forward to being a first grader. She doesn't understand the concept of summer break and was mad when she found out she has to wait three months to actually start first grade! Ohh, I hope this excitement for school will last for many years to come!!! Audrey just had her 6th birthday, Kindergarten Program, and her second dance recital. Busy, busy May!
Parker (Audrey's cousin) & Audrey

Sadie can't seem to give up her thumb sucking, one of these days I suppose I should try doing something about it. Sadie loves to play outside with friends and cousins. She wants to do everything Audrey does, and often seems much older than three. She had a sleep over at Aunt Kanoni's this week, and she was just beaming from ear to ear when I told her she was invited. Thanks Aunt Non! Sadie has learned to spell her name, and who know's what else. She's not big on showing off, so it's hard to know just how much she really does now. Sadie's latest phrase is, "What the Hell?" Yikes, I know she's picked that up from me, and it's a good lesson I'M learning! Oh dear! I know I've got trouble on my hands with her!

Porter just had his first birthday. He is growing and learning by leaps and bounds. He took his first steps last week. He also learned to clap and wave good bye last week as well. Gears seem to be turning faster and faster with him and I'm starting to have a hard time keeping up. He is a mild tempered, happy, and sweet boy! He prefers mom if I'm around, but enjoys spending time with dad too. He is full of kisses and you are sure to get on if you ask him. Porter LOVES animals, especially dogs. He still doesn't sleep at night, and he is still putting everything into his mouth. We hope these two habbits end very soon!

Last but not least, here are the kids Spring Pictures! I have lot's of extra prints if you didn't get one and want one. Just let me know! Hope you enjoyed the update!

Just Try This...

Just try this.
It is from an orthopedic surgeon............ This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's pre-programmed in your brain!
1. While sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right Hand. Your foot will change direction.
I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

My sil Erica sent me this. Too funny, just had to post it. I've tried it three times and my foot switches faster every time. What hoot!
