Nifty to be Fifty

Well, it's official, 12:05 am and my mom is now 50 years old. Happy Birthday Mom!

The older I get, the younger birthday's such as 40 and 50 seem to be. My mother and I are so close in age, she's often felt more like a sister and a friend than just my mother. Most people generally do mistake her for my sister. So mom, here's to you at 50, you've always had youth and beauty on your side, and no stinking over the hill birthday will ever be able to take that away from you! I hope you enjoy this day and many years to come! May you always look more like my sister than my mother!

Family Happenings

Mike and I went out to dinner a few nights ago with some friends, and I discovered that there really are more people reading my blog than I had imagined. So, I figured it was time for a little family update.
Audrey has just graduated from Kindergarten and she is looking forward to being a first grader. She doesn't understand the concept of summer break and was mad when she found out she has to wait three months to actually start first grade! Ohh, I hope this excitement for school will last for many years to come!!! Audrey just had her 6th birthday, Kindergarten Program, and her second dance recital. Busy, busy May!
Parker (Audrey's cousin) & Audrey

Sadie can't seem to give up her thumb sucking, one of these days I suppose I should try doing something about it. Sadie loves to play outside with friends and cousins. She wants to do everything Audrey does, and often seems much older than three. She had a sleep over at Aunt Kanoni's this week, and she was just beaming from ear to ear when I told her she was invited. Thanks Aunt Non! Sadie has learned to spell her name, and who know's what else. She's not big on showing off, so it's hard to know just how much she really does now. Sadie's latest phrase is, "What the Hell?" Yikes, I know she's picked that up from me, and it's a good lesson I'M learning! Oh dear! I know I've got trouble on my hands with her!

Porter just had his first birthday. He is growing and learning by leaps and bounds. He took his first steps last week. He also learned to clap and wave good bye last week as well. Gears seem to be turning faster and faster with him and I'm starting to have a hard time keeping up. He is a mild tempered, happy, and sweet boy! He prefers mom if I'm around, but enjoys spending time with dad too. He is full of kisses and you are sure to get on if you ask him. Porter LOVES animals, especially dogs. He still doesn't sleep at night, and he is still putting everything into his mouth. We hope these two habbits end very soon!

Last but not least, here are the kids Spring Pictures! I have lot's of extra prints if you didn't get one and want one. Just let me know! Hope you enjoyed the update!

Just Try This...

Just try this.
It is from an orthopedic surgeon............ This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's pre-programmed in your brain!
1. While sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right Hand. Your foot will change direction.
I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

My sil Erica sent me this. Too funny, just had to post it. I've tried it three times and my foot switches faster every time. What hoot!

Busy May

Well first I would like to send belated Happy MOther's Day wishes to all the mothers out there who read my blog! Hope you had a nice day!

We've been out playing practically all month! First of the month we were off to Texas for the Pink Floyd Concert witch was AWESOME! They only scheduled for venues in the NOrth American continent! We were so excited to be at one. I was totally suprised at how good they still sounded and how awesome the graphics were during the show. Bad news is, I lost my camera the next day sometime between six flags theme park and coming home, so no pictures of that trip. It was so fun to see Josh and Nicole and their girls.

We then celebrated Audrey's 6th birthday and Porter's 1st Birthday. We had a joit celebration with family in the evening, and durring the day I let Audrey have a Hannah Montanna Party with a four of her girlfriends and her sister. The day party was so much fun. The girls took turns dressing up as Hannah and had a photo shoot. Kind of silly, but the girls LOVED it!

Then we were off to the Dunes again for Mother's day weekend. Once again we were surronded by good company. It was good weather, but Mike had a bad head cold the first two days, and Porter threw up a few times the second day in. Both seem to pull out of it by Sunday and that's when I wrecked our friends dirt bike (pit bike) AGAIN! Luckily I didn't break anything or damage the bike, but I wasn't geared up and I burnt my calf on the hot pipes. It's a pretty bad burn, but I'm keeping it wrapped and hoping the scar won't be too bad. OOPS! All in all, it was still a fun weekend. Seems like it's always a good time at the DUNES.

Our 9 year Anniversay was yesterday, and Mike is still sick and work is getting a little hectic, so we had to cancel our trip to California this weekend. We are hanging around the house trying to play catch up from the last two weeks, and we'll be out celebrating tomorrow after Audrey's Dance Recital! 9 years of marriage going on 14 years of being together. It's amazing how fast time flies!

Well, enough for now, I'm going to go spend some time stalking! I think I've got a lot to catch up on in your lives!

Love, Jen

My Girlfriend Jess sent this too me, read as much as you have time for, you'll get the point! Ahhhhh!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!

AAADD KNOW THE SYMPTOMS....PLEASE READ!
Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder.
Somehow I feel better even though I have it!!

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. -Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.
This is how it manifests:I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.
As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table thatI brought up from the mail box earlier.
I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car.
I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, and notice that the can is full.
So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage first.
But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay the bills first.
I take my check book off the table, and see that there is only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study,
so I go inside the house to my desk where I find the can of Pepsi I'd been drinking.
I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Pepsi aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over.
The Pepsi is getting warm, and I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold.
As I head toward the kitchen with the Pepsi, a vase of flowers on the countercatches my eye--they need water.
I put the Pepsi on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning.
I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers.
I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill a container with water and suddenly spot the TV remote.
Someone left it on the kitchen table.
I realize that tonight when we go to watch TV,
I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers.
I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor.
So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill. Then, I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.
At the end of the day:the car isn't washed
the bills aren't paid
there is a warm can of Pepsi sitting on the counter
the flowers don't have enough water,
there is still only 1 check in my check book,
I can't find the remote,
I can't find my glasses,
and I don't remember what I did with the car keys.
Then, when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busy all damn day, and I'm really tired.
I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try to get some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail....Do me a favor. Forward this message to everyone you know, because I don't remember who the hell I've sent it to.
